Add your first server

What you get: one of your machines, visible to Quox and reachable by your agents, only through Bastion’s governed doorway.

In the conversation, no AI needed:

/hosts add

Quox prints the exact line for your install, with your Quox’s own address filled in:

what /hosts add prints
To add a host, no AI needed. On the machine you want to add, run:curl -sSL https://your-quox/install | sudo bash -s -- --host-id <name>Then check it arrived with: quox fleet hosts
The text as the 0.3.0 client prints it. Your Quox address appears where it says your-quox.

On the machine you are adding, run the curl line, with a short name in place of <name>, such as web-01. The name is how you and your agents will refer to the machine from then on.

fleet hosts is the full inventory Bastion knows, including machines that never checked in, like db-01 above. A new host shows active and healthy once its agent has reported.

The installer put QuoxAgent on your machine and registered it with your Quox under the name you chose. From now on, anything an agent wants to do there goes through Bastion: a policy check, an approval when it is risky, and a witnessed record.

/hosts in the conversation lists the hosts your Quox knows, and quox fleet status shows each one’s live state. See See every server at a glance.

To change a host’s registry entry, use quox fleet host-update <hostId>. Removing QuoxAgent from the machine itself is done on that machine.
